Kathy gives exceptional care to every patient she is assigned. She is kind, caring, and patient, not only with patients, but with other staff members as well. One patient interaction stands out to me. This particular patient was in a bad car accident and was hospitalized for multiple weeks. This patient just happened to mention that her favorite cereal was Fruity Pebbles, but Fruity Pebbles is not stocked on the unit. Kathy went to the store after work and picked up a large bag of Fruity Pebbles for this patient. While this may seem like a small gesture, I saw the way the patient's eyes lit up when she saw that bag of cereal. You can truly see that Kathy enjoys being at the bedside and helping her patients. Kathy takes the time to listen to her patients and I believe that is what makes her an extraordinary nurse.
