Her coworker stated, "when I wasn't allowed to lift following my own surgery, this nurse came into the room frequently to help lift the patient or anything else I needed.

There was an event planned & hosted by all the med/surg staff on behalf of one of their co-workers who had been off work for an extended period of time. Katie came in on her day off to run a bake sale benefiting her peer. She was also one of the co-workers who frequently checked on their injured peer at home while they were recovering.

There is even story regarding Katie being asked by a patient's family member if they could help get their loved one to a doctor's appointment outside this facility. Katie helped arrange the appointment on her day off so she could also accompany the family to the appointment, help get them out of the vehicle and into the physician's office safely.
