...As an ESRD patient with multiple other health problems, I have spent a lot of time here on the 5th floor of WakeMed. I have been very pleased with all the RNs, NAs, and CNs that have cared for me during my stay. That includes the floor nurses, the entire staff of the HD clinic, the ICU units, as well as the Rehab hospital. But Katie is especially delightful.

Her nursing skills and expertise are great and her compassion and sincere caring are exceptional. Whenever she comes in my room for an assessment or to give me medication or whatever, she always has a big cheerful smile and something pleasant to say which always brightened my mood. She always asks if I need anything and will contact the on call doctor if necessary.

When I wanted a little walking exercise while waiting for a physical therapist, she would take time out of her busy day to walk me down the hall and back a couple of times. Katie is an extraordinary nurse.
