The 4 weeks that Katie was my nurse were much easier because of her skills and compassion.
I am a 76-year-old female who was diagnosed with bladder cancer and had to have 6 infusion treatments. I also would like to mention that I have severe arthritis which makes it hard for me to move around for these treatments. The first 2 treatments were really bad in terms of pain. The third day was when I met Katie. She met me at admission and was like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. She was very skilled at inserting the catheter which had caused me so much pain previously. She was very concerned about my comfort and went out of the way to make sure I was not in pain. While waiting for the results of my labs she checked on me afterward and wanted to know if I needed anything. I heard her go to the other cubicles and ask the others if they needed anything and they were ok. This was a very hard treatment each week and the 4 weeks that Katie was my nurse were much easier because of her skills and compassion. She really cares for her patients and is very skilled as a nurse. I hope when I have to do my maintenance, I am lucky enough to have her as my nurse. I feel she is very deserving of this award.

I am a 60-year-old. I contracted the COVID virus from my husband. He was exposed at work. Both of us were fully vaccinated and preparing to get our booster shots but had not found the Moderna Booster in our area. I was at the Infusion center to obtain the monoclonal antibody infusion. Katie was my nurse. She was so kind that I just felt compelled to recognize her for her excellent nursing care. She was very attentive. She explained everything that would take place. I was excited about seeing my granddaughter for Thanksgiving, she shared in my excitement and related stories about her own child who was of similar age. She met my physical as well as emotional needs, as she cared for me. I would highly recommend her and say she is an “Extraordinary Nurse!”
