Her voice can soothe your pain, and when she cares for you, she takes your discomfort and agonizing pain on and immediately starts to get down to business and get you fixed up as much as humanly possible.
I have to tell you of my incredible experience with my new Guardian Angel, who shed light on the darkest part of my life. My very special Nurse/Guardian Angel/My Friend who deserves to know how loved and appreciated she really is. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer, which has spread from my abdomen all the way to my lungs. I am 33 years old with 2 children who need me. So, that night would always remain the worst night of my now shortened life. I thought, “This is it”. But then came Miss Katlyn, who showed me that I was strong and that this storm would blow over. This, too, shall pass. She does not just take care of me because it’s her job or for a paycheck. Her love and care radiate off of her and onto us patients. That’s no easy feat. I have lots of experience with hospitals, and I’ve never come across another nurse who looks at you, not out of pity but looks at you. And out of love…. would take it all away if she could. Her voice can soothe your pain, and when she cares for you, she takes your discomfort and agonizing pain on and immediately starts to get down to business and get you fixed up as much as humanly possible. She is amazing!! She is passionate and courageous. Katlyn is brave simply because of where she works and because she is an understanding, empathetic young woman. At any point steps in our shoes to simply say “I’m with you, hold my hand because I won’t let go!” Katlyn will only continue to climb. If anyone deserves this award….it’s my friend, the best nurse – Katlyn Brown.
