Kayla Cox, RN is a very compassionate, caring nurse. She is a professional of whom WMC should consider an asset. She always knocked before entering my room, washed her hands, scanned and verbally identified me using my bracelet. She indicated what she was giving me when administering medications. She was always pleasant and listened to my concerns. I am a very low-tolerant patient when given any narcotic. I become very nauseated and vomit with very small doses. Kayla did not try to encourage me to take the prescribed narcotics for pain but checked on me after administering my meds to make sure I was ok. "Where does she find the time?" I appreciate her so much.
I have been in the hospital several times in several hospitals (Johns Hopkins outpatient oncology, Georgetown Medstar inpatient, Cleveland Clinic extended visitor, George Washington Hospital Center extended visitor) and I can say honestly from observation and treatment WMC has the best nursing teams of all the hospitals listed. You should be proud.
Kayla exemplifies the professionalism, compassion, knowledge, capability, and patience of what an excellent nurse should be. Thank you, Kayla for all you do. You and your team of nurses and CNAs made my stay enjoyable and comforting.
