Kayla was wonderful. The day I came to the hospital is a bit blurry, things happened so fast. After surgery, I remember I was feeling ignored and unheard, but I remember Kayla's reaction. She was gracious. She was poised and calm. She listened and she heard me. She helped me feel better. She explained things.
She took the time to make sure I understood what had happened, and she gave me confidence that I was safe with her and the hospital. She was kind, and she forgave my outburst. She became my friend. Kayla demonstrated meekness and strength as she became my advocate. I wish I could stay one more day, just to visit.
Though at first, I didn't recognize and appreciate her, Kayla is a great nurse. It's a lot of work to be a nurse and it's exhausting. Kayla went above and beyond what was merely required. I admire her grace, her ability to work as a team player, and her sense of humor. God bless Kayla for the good she is doing here.
