This young pregnant woman with a nurse's badge that says "Kayla" came into my room after transport dropped me off. She introduced herself and said that she knew I was waiting for someone to start my IV. She asked me to give her a moment and she would take care of it. Then everyone got really busy all of sudden. I guessed she went to look for someone, but then she came back and said, "I'll see what I can do if you are okay with that." I said "sure." Then she got everything needed and grabbed my left hand and pressed her thumb up and down on the backside. She says "Yes, I think I have one. You be still now," with a big smile on her face. 1,2,3 stick and in goes my IV. I was super excited about how easy it was!
