Through her gentle compassion, I was able to find solace and finally was confident that I could rest/sleep
Kaylee Burtner was filing in on my unit, but recognized me from prior stays. I’ve had many more serious hospitalizations yet this one affected me deeply. I vomited for 5 straight hours and was held in the ER for 36 hours. I felt such a loss of control.
Kaylee walked in and my heart was lifted just by seeing her kind face and recognition that she had been my nurse before. - which I definitely knew who she was as well.
Through her gentle compassion, I was able to find solace and finally was confident that I could rest/sleep knowing Kaylee was my nurse and I was in the best hands. She gave a thorough report to her peers, and seemed to find the time to provide excellent care to the 7 or so people she had as patients (including me)!
She’s a phenomenal human, which makes her invaluable to you as an institution and to the patients under her care, who have been blessed to have her as a nurse.
God bless Kaylee! She is the epitome of your mission statement. I will never forget the positive impact she makes!
