I had an emergency c-section at 32 weeks to deliver my baby- he was rushed to the NICU right away and I was wheeled to L&D to recover without being able to hold him or see him. Shortly after, I began to decline severely enough to be transferred to MSICU. I was a first-time mom, so I had no idea how to pump and was deemed too sick to see or even hold my baby. 

Kaylee Baumann showed me how to pump and fought to be able to get me upstairs to the NICU to see and hold my baby for the first time, carting all my machines and pockets full of life-saving injections with her. Once I arrived in the NICU, she took videos on my phone to ensure the first moments holding my tiny new baby were captured. She even provided information on financial assistance for a costly NICU stay. 

I will never forget the dedication and compassion she showed to being able to get me to see my brand new baby regardless of how sick I was. We had even got stuck in the elevator at one point, and she made the best of the terrifying situation! I will never forget her and all she did for me.
