Kelley personally wheeled me out to my car. She was a model of a caring professional nurse; and, I very much appreciated the personal continuity she provided throughout the biopsy procedure
I was scheduled for a CT Lung Biopsy at Carroll Hospital. Needless to say, I was not looking forward to the experience. Registration went smoothly. Kelley greeted me and escorted me to a cubicle for the pre-op. It was apparent at the onset that Kelley is related to the "Energizer Bunny". Beyond her energetic tempo, she was singularly focused on thoroughness and adherence to the required pre-op protocols (vitals, meds, designated driver, my comfort, etc.). Kelley made sure I understood what the CT Biopsy procedure would involve, and who my assigned Interventional Radiologist would be. She personally wheeled me to the CT Room and helped with my transfer and setup, and administered my IV "cocktail".
Kelley delivered my lunch for me and checked on me during the "observation period" and scheduled X-ray. She facilitated my discharge and reviewed the instructions with me. Then Kelley personally wheeled me out to my car. She was a model of a caring professional nurse; and, I very much appreciated the personal continuity she provided throughout the biopsy procedure. It was comforting and I felt special. I think Kelley is overqualified for her position, but I suspect that with her unique skill set, she would want to continue with direct patient care. Beyond my appreciation for Kelley's attention and care, the experience was a testimonial to the "quality of care" which Carroll Hospital can provide.
