Kelli is one our top tier RN's. She is the complete package. Kelli is intelligent, skilled, patient, friendly, and compassionate. She watches her patients like a hawk, noticing subtle changes, and advocates for her patients and their families. She always gets our most critical patients. One RN said this of Kelli, "You are the most compassionate person and the greatest advocate not only for your patients but for ALL the babies and families. You always find the right words to talk to parents and the correct approach to help alleviate their fears. Thank you for talking to my parents last night and making it possible for a mom to hold her dying baby for the very first time right before Mother's Day".
Kelli is our go-to for patients who need PIVs in emergent situations. Kelli always responds cheerfully and comes right over to the bed space. While placing PIVs, Kelli takes the time to explain her process to new nurses to help build their confidence and skill level. Kelli takes the time to listen to the concerns of family members and nurses.
Kelli takes pride in her job, treating each patient as if he or she was her own child. Even though Kelli has been a nurse for a number of years she never cuts corners in her patient care. Her babies are always the cleanest, hair brushed, mouths cleaned, and swaddled perfectly with no creases or wrinkle to be seen.
A few months ago one of our patients was experiencing a serious cardiac event and needed access to receive lifesaving cardiac medication. Upon hearing of the emergency, Kelli immediately went over the bed space and placed a PIV so the patient could receive the medication.
One nurse said of Kelli, "If I ever need a nurse for myself or my family member I want Kelli. She will provide excellent care for the entire family."
Kelli embodies everything CHOA strives to provide for patients, families, and staff.
