When I was going through the worst time in my life and was in UMC for 2 1/2 months, she was my ROCK! She was so loving and compassionate, she put herself in my shoes and found ways to help me with wound care that others wouldn't. I was in excruciating pain and she was the ONLY one that truly seemed to care. She was gentle and patient. When I needed someone to talk to she was there. When I cried, she cried, when I wanted to die, she kept on encouraging me, trying to convince me that everything would be ok. I was here for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New year's and she was so sweet. I never felt alone. She has always been more than a nurse to me, she's more like a sister to me. No one else ever took time to explain things and answer my questions. In fact, a couple of times I was actually told "I have other patients and can't stay in this room." You can only imagine how it felt to be treated that way. But this nurse ALWAYS has time for ALL of her patients. She is the only day shift nurse I didn't feel neglected by! My daughters love her too! My whole family truly appreciates her! She has exceptional nursing skills, the most compassionate bed side manner I've ever seen. She treats you like you are the only patient she has. The reason I am here today, I credit highly to her exceptional care. I truly did not believe I was going to make it out of the hospital alive until she started being my nurse. After she began taking care of me, I thought I might have a chance. I did make it out alive. Thank you so much nurse, I love you!
