Kelly took such loving care of my mother during her 7-week stay in the hospital. My sisters and I were in awe of her expertise, compassion, and patience as she tended to our mother's very critical care needs. Her care extended beyond our mother to ourselves, and we truly appreciate her kindness towards us as well.
A particular act of kindness that will forever remain in my mind was when my mother, who had not had a "real" bath in weeks, much less a "real" hair washing, was given a real hair wash by Kelly. In the midst of her chaotic shift, she found time to do a seemingly impossible task that others would not dare attempt. She even pulled out the hair dryer for a style befitting a queen!My mother was like a new woman, with spirits lifted.
From that moment on, all other nurses were somewhat paled in comparison, according to my mother. "That's not the way Kelly does it" or "Where's Kelly?" were things often said.
I am also an RN at a pediatric hospital. I was amazed by the quality of all of Bayfront CVICU nurses, and each day that I work, I find myself channeling them as I strive to be as equally thoughtful with my small patients and their families.
