Kelly is a float pool nurse but she used to be the VAD coordinator. Sunday, one of her long term LVAD patients was in the hospital and was not doing well. Sunday was Easter. Kelly dropped her children off at church with her mother around 10:00 am and came straight to UMMC to be with the family. The patient died that day and Kelly was here on her day off and gave up part of her Easter with her children to be with the patient and his family. This is true compassion and dedication. Kelly went above and beyond showing support of a family and patient she had grown so close to. She is a fabulous nurse!
