Naomi and Kelsey left a really lasting impression on me, since they were so nice, kind, and helpful, not just to me but also to my family.
I was in the CCP for an eating disorder and feeling really down and sad because I really did not want to eat. But my nurses really helped me through it and distracted me. They would always tell me stories during meals and try to help me as much as they could. They offered me a numbing patch for my blood work and were open and personal with me. Naomi and Kelsey left a really lasting impression on me, since they were so nice, kind, and helpful, not just to me but also to my family.
Naomi told me a personal story about her family at dinner one time, and it was really helpful in distracting me in the process of eating and helping me feel connected to her so that I trusted her and really felt cared for. With their help, I was able to be released from the hospital and am now in the process of recovery.
They helped changed my mindset; from refusing to eat anything to having the motivation to recover. Without them, I would probably still be consumed by my eating disorder; I would be in a treatment facility somewhere. With their help and motivation, I am able to enjoy my high school career, get back to my sports, and hang out with my friends, instead of lying in a hospital bed somewhere. I am very grateful for them, and was so thankful to them in the hospital, when they pushed me to want to get better, but weren't mean and forceful. I was very scared to go to the hospital because you always hear eating disorder patients say how bad their experience was, but right when I met Naomi and Kelsey, I was reassured that this would not be my case.
