Kelsi was working in Pod B, where she inherited a patient from Pod C at about midnight. The patient was to be discharged and all Kelsi needed to do was send her home. However, she noticed that the patient was hypoxemic. She was very persistent in pursuing this issue. Ultimately the patient was found to have a large pulmonary embolus and was admitted to the hospital.

Kelsi's actions and advocacy literally saved this patient's life. She acted with care and diligence through her nursing assessment and her persistent advocacy on behalf of a patient she had just inherited to dismiss from the Emergency Room. Kelsi's action is the embodiment of an excellent nurse and human being.
