Kelsie was an absolute lifesaver during a very stressful time. I was transferred from DDEAMC based on a GI surgery they were not equipped to perform. Upon being transferred to Augusta University, Kelsie was assigned to my care and she never failed to deliver outstanding care or information. Amongst the miscommunication of doctor to patient information, Kelsie remained diligent and persistent to obtain answers to our questions. She also would diligently check on results to make sure they were being read and processed. She went above and beyond to get a doctor to communicate the patient health care plan and succeeded to finally get information for us.
Whenever I had concerns about some abnormalities such as urine color, Kelsie never dismissed it but always followed through on procedures to observe. When my prescribed medicines were not working, she made sure a new script was put in, so I was comfortable. Knowing my profession to be a medical technologist, she gave me facts and numbers of my results to show me my improvement and offered encouragement.
Kelsie knew I had a 5-month-old at home and that I was breastfeeding, so she ordered a pump from the OB floor and pump parts to make sure my breast milk maintained supply. She also researched with the pharmacy to give information on the pump and the medications I was on. As a mother herself, she understood my anxiety and needs. Kelsie was always professional and maintained the situations without escalations or frustrations.
All in all, Kelsie is the nurse that everyone dreams of being assigned to. She is quick, prompt, diligent, professional, and overall kind. I know that without Kelsie's kindness things would have had a dark turn. Kelsie is a DAISY Nurse.
