Kendra has done an outstanding job in supporting her team as Interim Nurse Manager for the MBU while stepping up to assist with patient care during times of a high census.
Ms. Kendra was the best nurse I've had; she came in and fully examined me, introduced herself, and even someone else if she wasn't available to care for me. She gave me my medication without me having to ask and she checked on me and made me feel like she really cared.
When I commented on how great of a nurse she was she told me that she treats people like she wants to be treated and that she leads by example. I could just feel her genuine kind soul. Before leaving she came and introduced me to my new nurse and made sure I was okay before leaving me. She is a true example of being a nurse. I hope you see this, Ms. Kendra, and just know that you left an impression on how we should all treat one another.

She always has a caring approach to patients with clinical expertise, kindness, and consideration. Kendra genuinely cares about others and brings her best every day. This clearly shows to our patients and I know that her staff feels the same way!

Kendra has stepped into the interim nurse manager role and has done an amazing job! The nurse manager retired soon after Kendra came back to work from a health crisis. The immediate challenges she faced in Mother-Baby units were staffing challenges, COVID wave, and an abundance of call-ins. Kendra jumped right in and didn’t miss a beat. She rolled up her sleeves and took charge. Kendra managed the staff by day and worked as an NCIII some evenings. She often covered the units for several hours until help arrived.
One noticeable situation was when Kendra was short several nurses. She took an assignment on 5A and an assignment on 9A. I was really concerned because she work while in pain. But you will never know because she doesn’t complain. When I expressed my concerns, she said to me, “I have to do what I have to do to help my nurses!” Kendra is an advocate for her staff and they see her efforts. I appreciate her diligence, support, and outstanding work ethic. She’s a superhero in my book!
