My mother was in the ICU for about 2 weeks. During that time we had MANY scares as she coded a number of times. Kerri had been there for many of these incidents. Not only did she help save my mother's life but she helped my family's coping process. She stayed hours after her shift ended just out of her own concern- to stay, give a hand medically and emotionally to my family. She always gave full explanations of what she was doing and why she was doing it, inspiring my little sister to become a nurse as well. She without a doubt made this horrible experience as comfortable as she could and she without a doubt deserves recognition for it.

Kerri is awesome. She is always right on top of thing and I felt very safe when she was taking care of my mom. I felt more secure. She did things that weren't required. She went the extra mile to make my mom feel comfortable. Kerri is also very sweet and easy to talk to. I felt that she truly cared about my mom's life and that was so important to me.

Kerri had a very sick lady that became a 1:1 patient. She stayed in the room with the family at all times. She made sure they understood every tube and every drug the patient received. The daughters were young, 14 and 17 I think, Kerri encouraged them through it all. She never let them lose hope. As a matter of fact, the youngest now wants to be a nurse, like Kerri. The patient became worse and it was decided she needed to go to Jewish for a transplant. Kerri did an awesome job preparing the patient and the family for the move. When I spoke with the family, they even asked me if Kerri could stay with them! Kerri knew it would be hard for them to learn to trust new doctors and nurses so she spent a lot of time talking with them about the move. Kerri traveled on the ambulance with the patient and I feel that is the only reason the family felt comfortable letting her move.
