I am so thankful for Kevin and how he helped my father as much as he could. Although my father isn’t here with us, I know he would have loved to give Kevin a big thanks.
My father was admitted for cardiac surgery at the end of January. Where he had many complications after his surgery. His stay there was about two months, and my mother was alongside him the whole time. During the days and nights, we had different nurses, but Kevin really stood out. We had him a handful of times and he was one of the most generous and caring people we met there. He made sure that my father was the most comfortable he could have been during the times he was intubated. Kevin went above and beyond to assist us. This was the best care that we have ever received at a Kaiser. He would even make sure that both my father and mother had everything they needed. Kevin was always on his feet, ready to help my father with anything he needed. Whether my father was uncomfortable or in pain, Kevin always made sure to help as much as he could. Leading up to my father’s last days, Kevin would come check on us and always ask if we needed anything, even if he was not our nurse. He showed compassion during these hard times. When my father passed away, Kevin was there for us as he had been for the past two months. He knew how to comfort, and he came back to me, my mother, and our family to share his condolences. He always made sure that we knew that if we needed anything, we could always let him know. I am so thankful for Kevin and how he helped my father as much as he could. Although my father isn’t here with us, I know he would have loved to give Kevin a big thanks.

My grandfather was having cardiac bypass surgery and ran into postoperative complications, causing him to stay at LAMC CSU for over a month. Throughout this time, Kevin was the most attentive, compassionate, and helpful nurse throughout his stay. He was not only like this with my grandfather but with my grandmother, who stayed the whole time he was there as well.
He not only met my grandfather's medical needs but always gave him that smile and uplifting spirit he needed during this time. My grandmother always expressed how Kevin would never fail to ask if they needed anything. We met multiple nurses throughout his stay, and no one even came close to providing the same care Kevin did. My grandfather ended up passing away and although Kevin was not his nurse for that day, he stopped by to say his condolences, he meant a lot to my family during this hard time, and we will always continue to be thankful to have had him care for my grandfather during this time. The smile he would put on my grandfather's face was unforgettable, and it was one the few smiles and laughs he gave before passing, and we want to thank him greatly for being so passionate when giving care.
