I am 76, my husband is 78, he is a "train wreck" healthwise and we have been in and out of 5 hospitals during our 60 years together encountering many angels of mercy. During this visit, we were blessed with many good nurses and caregivers, but one night encountered Kevin. Right away he gave me such a feeling of security, you just feel it when he walks in the room. He exudes capability to help, willingness to help, intuition to know what is needed for comfort, is always kind, empathetic, and patient. I always stay with my husband night and day but feel so secure if Kevin is there. On one particularly bad night for my husband, I was feeling very tested with my assurance of his survival, I said nothing and did not cry. After Kevin made my husband comfortable and patiently listened to his delusional ranting, he came to me where I was sitting, dropped down on his haunches, looked me in the eye and very sweetly said, "How can I help you?" He intuitively knew I needed comforting and patiently he explained what I was seeing and why easing my fears. It wasn't just this incident; this is what you can expect from Kevin always.
