I wish everyone could experience and give love like we had with her. She cares, is genuine, and is a real person.
Anything I could say in this letter will not do this lovely lady justice. Without Khouri I do not know what I would have done. When I came in, I felt overwhelmed, scared, undeserving, and powerless. Khouri stayed, listened, and she talked to me. She explained everything, and she made me smile when I thought I couldn’t. I’ve been traumatized and terrified in the past, but she taught me that one bad experience was just one moment in time, and today, I would have a new experience. I wish everyone could experience and give love like we had with her. She cares, is genuine, and is a real person. She is also strong and determined. Khouri was an inspiration, and she will always hold a special place with me. I will never forget her. Again, words cannot give her any justice for the way she made me feel as a patient. She deserves more than this award. She will forever be thought of by me and has made a footprint on my heart. Thank you, Khouri, I could not have done it without you.

I rounded on this patient and Khouri really made a difference for them. I have always believed that childbirth is a pivotal moment for women. A positive experience can have an impact by building confidence and often change the direction of circumstances for many generations. I believe for this patient, Khouri did just that by supporting her being present.
The patient was being induced and was having anxiety. When Khouri’s shift ended, she chose to leave and return the next day when Khouri would be back to work.
