I had to come to L&D on one of the worst days of my life. I had miscarried my baby at 16 weeks. I was on the schedule to come in for surgery to have a D&C. I was not your usual patient, but you were not the usual nurse. I wasn’t one of your happy patients getting to meet my baby. I was the one having to say goodbye. I am the type of person who is shy and reserved; not a touchy, feely person, and did not need someone to honey, baby, sweetie me which would have made me feel so much worse that day. That’s just not who I am and I dreaded having that “type” of nurse. God put you, Kiersten, in my life because He knows you are whom I needed and whom I could handle for that day. You showed so much professionalism, kindness, and respect to me and my mom during one of the hardest days of my life. You made me feel so comfortable and valued. Whenever I needed anything, you jumped right to it. You kept me comfortable during my pain. Thank you for being such a great nurse on my worse days. You were the light that brightened my darkness. Continue to be light on someone’s bright and dark days. God chose you to be my nurse and I am forever thankful He did. Continue to shine your light!
