Kim is my hero! From the first day I started as a volunteer in the ICU waiting room, I felt that Kim was a long lost friend. She was so pleasant as she greeted me with a big smile. I never met her when she did not have a big smile for me and others. I became her patient on in August when I had takatsubo cardiomyopathy and was in the ICU for three and one half days. Kim was my nurse. She took very good care of me seeming to know what I needed before I did. I was taken to 7th floor overnight. But then back to ICU. The incision broke open and I was bleeding badly. Kim was still on duty. She and Vale held the incision for four hours to stop the bleeding. They with Dr. S saved my life!
A year later, in July, I was back in ICU after being hit by a truck while walking. I had a crushed tibia, skull fracture and a hairline fracture in my hand. Kim was again my nurse. She was the one who encouraged a second e-ray be taken to check my hand. I am now able to do more of what I use to do. I am grateful to Kim, the ICU staff and Dr. S for taking good care of me.
