She spent every free second, she had in the patient's room. Just in case something were to happen.
Kim has been a nurse with Banner for over 20 years. She has trained many of our nurses over the years, and she has watched many come and go. The compassion and caring that she has displayed during her nursing career are inspiring. There are many stories that come to mind that I could share with you, but something I recently observed needs to be acknowledged.
Although Kim is a charge nurse on this particular night, she also had a patient assignment. Her patient was on comfort care. The family could not get here until the morning. She spent every free second, she had in the patient's room. Just in case something were to happen, she didn’t want the patient to be alone if he should pass. The family arrived around 3:30 am and they were touched that this nurse would do this for their loved one. The patient did pass the next day, but the family wanted to acknowledge her and thank her for her compassion.
