Being pregnant and struggling with addiction has to be one of the loneliest things I’ve gone through. Especially while being around people who’ve never been through it but, keep telling you “it’s going to be okay an you’ll get through it.” Like how would they know, right? Well this time around, being in the MOST program for the first time, I’ve experienced something completely different; feeling cared for and heard. Which isn’t a normal thing for those of us struggling with addiction. Getting that type of treatment at a dark and low moment, especially from a stranger, means a lot!

Kimberley not only made me feel gratitude but, also allowed me to begin trusting again. She listened to me when I expressed my pain and was on top of my medication. She got me out of my room and took me for a walk when I expressed I was going stir crazy. She brought snacks just as soon as I asked for them and even got me, a very private and personal person, to open up and talk about whatever was on my mind. I felt heard and cared for. One of the most special things she did was going above and beyond to help me celebrate my birthday! Kimberley is the model nurse and Norton’s is truly blessed to have her on the team, as I was blessed to have her as my nurse!
