Kim had the right words and the right attitude to pull me out of that dark place and stay alive long enough to have my bypass.
Kim was in the lab for my angio procedure and she put me right at ease making the procedure tolerable. However, after complications with the balloon pump, I found myself back in front of Kim, but in a very dark place and ready to give up for good. Kim had the right words and the right attitude to pull me out of that dark place and stay alive long enough to have my bypass. She saved my life that day in the lab; I will never forget her. She is the reason I am still here.
I did not know, because I was still in a very bad way for days, but she came by every day to check on me, and she also checked on my wife during those visits. The first time I was awake when she walked in my whole day changed. I was asked, “How do you remember Kim when you can’t remember anything else?”
“You never forget the person who saved your life.”
I am one week out of surgery and spend some time every day thanking God that Kim was there that day. When I am healed, I am coming back for that hug she owes me. I wish there were more I could do for her.
