Kim has known me for two years as an addict using methadone and Adderall by IV. I lost my son in February; he was stillborn. I lost my dad last month. I turned to meth this year in June; smoking and IV use. Kim attempted to convince me to come back to PRRTP. I said, "no" and then I stopped with no treatment.
After two Non-VA Mental Health facilities, two VA Hospital stays, several detoxes, and getting out of an abusive relationship, I turned to heroin IV and crack. Kim took her own time several times to talk to me about coming back to PRRTP. I was under the influence of meth and she sat with me for over an hour explaining the dangers of meth and begging me to come back. So, now I am back in PRRTP.
Kim is a very great nurse that saved a Veteran from suicide and drug overdose. She doesn't judge Vets, doesn't come in and take her personal problems out on Vets ever. She is very professional, nice and kind, and like a mother to me. My girlfriend also appreciates what Kim has done for me. She saved a Veteran's life.
