There is not just one story to describe why Kim is a DAISY nurse, but 49 years of stories. Everyone who knows Kim talks about the wonderful nursing care she provides. Kim continuously works to better her peers, our department, and the nursing profession. Kim is actively involved in the SGNA at the local and national levels. She has been a member of countless committees. She always arrives to work with a smile on her face that is contagious. She creates a therapeutic environment by playing relaxing music for her patients and coworkers. Kim always makes her peers feel valued and appreciated. When I first started in Endo two years ago, I was insecure about my lack of GI/Endoscopy knowledge. Kim took me under her wing and taught me everything she could (and still does). Instead of making me feel bad about my lack of knowledge she made me feel good about my med-surg knowledge and how it will contribute to the department. Kim is the epitome of a DAISY Nurse and I feel honored to call her a colleague.
