Kim showed impressive collaborative and critical thinking skills with one of our patients that was ultimately diagnosed with necrotizing fascitis. Early on in the shift, Tiffany RN, voiced her concern to the provider about the patient’s condition and increasing symptoms. Kim was consulted and both Kim and Tiffany collaborated together well. With great differential diagnosis, clinical symptoms, and voicing their concerns to the provider a CT was ordered per their recommendation. The results of the CT scan led to the diagnosis and the patient’s transfer to a higher level of care. Time is of the essence in this situation, and the great teamwork by Kim and Tiffany probably saved the patient’s life. I am so proud to work alongside Kim and call her my co-worker.
