I was admitted to Presbyterian the night my father suddenly died of extensive unexplained bleeding and massive clots at 29 weeks pregnant. It was extremely scary, and the unknown was awful. I ended up staying at Presbyterian for almost an entire month trying to "stay pregnant" and could not have survived without Nurse Kimberly Kaschak. She always looked out for me, had my interests at heart, and helped me cope with some intense anxiety when it came time to leave the hospital after I miraculously stabilized. Kim goes above and beyond--she organized Mom Arts and Crafts activities for us to do with the other moms on the unit--it was relaxing to do the activities, something nice to decorate our room with, and a way to meet other moms. Being in that unit can be isolating, but thanks to Kim, we made our own little "pod" of moms and supported each other (even to this day, as everyone but me has delivered!). I cannot say enough things about Kim! She is one of the most incredible people I have ever met, and she takes her job seriously and with love and care for her patients. I love Kim and am excited to see her again when I deliver.
