Kim's superpower is making her patients feel at ease and comfort during the scariest time in their lives.
Kim is a wonderful nurse and person. She has been my nurse for a little over 10 years now. She has been with me throughout my entire cancer journey. Most people probably do not realize this about Kim, but she has a superpower. Her superpower is making her patients feel at ease and comfort during the scariest time in their lives. She also makes you feel as if you are her only patient, and your needs and concerns are her needs and concerns as well. I have experienced this firsthand over the years. Kim has an amazing smile that lights up and warms up the exam room and a laugh that gives you hope that you can get through this journey. She has always returned my calls and answered my questions or found me help, whether it was with financial matters or social workers. She really tries for her patients to get answers for them and help ease their worries. When I heard my oncologist was retiring, I was so panicked I wasn't sure what was going to happen to me. My cancer treatments? My thoughts were racing around everywhere until I saw Kim and talked with her. Once again, she calmed me down and reassured me, I still had her and the rest of the cancer team and the new oncologist I would be getting was highly recommended for the position and that she had heard only good things about them. She convinced me it was all going to be okay, and she was right... it was. Here is another good example of Kim's compassion and willingness to go above and beyond for her patients.
