A few weeks ago, my dad was in the care of Mary and Elizabeth's staff. Sadly, my dad passed away while at the hospital. I wanted to share something that stood out to me about a specific staff member named Kiosha Bizzell. My dad was in Hospice care, and Kiosha came into the room and was so kind and gentle when providing care to my dad. She was engaging and prepared for the work ahead of her. She kindly answered the questions we asked if she was able to. My dad passed away while Kiosha was in the room. She calmly met his needs in his last few minutes of life while my mother and I talked to him and cried together. She was extremely respectful of the dying process and made us feel supported and welcome. She made me feel safe in my emotions and helped us during the tough transition. She displayed a wonderful bedside manner. She is what a medical provider should aspire to be. I’m grateful for her support and for the hospital staff’s support during this journey with my dad.
