I was hospitalized at Broward Health Coral Springs for 19 days. During much of my stay, I was extremely sick (vomiting, two surgeries, NG tubes, etc.) Having been a first-time patient, many things were foreign to me. Kirsten explained details about everything pertinent to my care from the complex equipment to the various tubes and medications. She is extremely knowledgeable and was capable of communicating important information to make sure I was at ease and educated as a patient.
Fortunately for me, Kirsten was assigned as my nurse each time she was on duty. She was cordial and courteous whenever members of my family or guests were present. She acknowledged each one and especially made sure my mother was comfortable during her visits. She always came into my room with a smile and calm and peaceful spirit. There was one evening I was having vividly alarming dreams and Kirsten was able to reassure me and allay my fears.
Kirsten is a gem and asset to any patient who benefits from her genuinely compassionate attention. She is an exceptional role model of a caring, professional nurse and made the stay pleasant and bearable under difficult circumstances. There are not enough words to express my gratitude. Kirsten Franzese truly deserves the DAISY Award.
