My Mother-in-law broke her hip and was taken by ambulance to Baptist Hospital in Jackson. There were no rooms in the ER or the hospital, so for hours after arriving, she and my husband were in the hallway of the ER waiting for attention and a room. A hospital room was finally available after surgery the next day and we were welcomed by Koury! After a traumatic 24 hours, it was such a blessing to be greeted by Koury who treated us like family and immediately took care of our needs and very professionally answered our questions and concerns. Over the next five days, she showed patience, compassion, knowledge, and the ability to do whatever was needed to keep my elderly mother-in-law comfortable, clean, administered meds to her, and all the wonderful things a true nurse is expected to do. Her care and compassion were the most appreciated of all her job skills. By the time we left, we felt like we were leaving a family member behind, but knew her talents and gifts would be directed to other patients. We just want Koury to know that she made our entire family feel cared for, and we were not just strangers passing through. We very much appreciated her being such a courteous and professional nurse.
