Krista did a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes to save my son, and he was in emergency surgery with Dr. G within two hours of arrival to Baptist.
I am not certain how to articulate my gratitude for the efforts that Krista Kirby made in caring for my family.
My son was admitted to a Louisville area hospital and quickly became very ill. We were struggling to get him the care that he needed as he decompensated right in front of my eyes.
Having been so very blessed with new friendships with the talented critical care nurses of Baptist Health Louisville that joined the house manager team, I reached out to them for help. After sharing my son's declining state and inability to receive the treatments and interventions needed, Krista began an all-out pursuit to get my son to Baptist Health Louisville and into the care of our doctors as quickly as possible.
Krista reached out to Dr. S at home and facilitated the acceptance of care. She reached out to our thoracic surgical team and had every service my son needed up to speed and ready to take on his care. Krista did a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes to save my son, and he was in emergency surgery with Dr. G within two hours of arrival to Baptist. Dr. S, Dr. G, and SG will also forever be heroes to our family.
Krista does not like recognition and is a very humble woman, but when a surgeon looks at your family and says, "If your son had not come to us and gotten this surgery, if he had stayed where he was with the plan that was in place, he would very likely have been on the lung transplant list or lost his life," one must give credit where credit is due.
