Kristen, again, remained my cheerleader; she helped capture memories in the operating room and shared in the controlled chaos and the beautiful delivery of my identical triplet boys.
Kristen was my nurse, by her choice most days, during my inpatient stay while awaiting the arrival of my triplets. As one can imagine, this was an overwhelming experience, to say the least. For 8 days, I was cared for and supported by the most incredible guardian angels (all the nursing caregivers on High Risk & 2M), including Kristen. Her style of nursing is dynamic; she is clinically sound, thorough, patient, kind, and sees the patient and their unborn as a person/people, caring for them holistically and ensuring the utmost trust and respect.
Kristen asked to be moved to the assignment where I was on a particular morning; little did she know she would come in to hit the ground running, as I was having clinical changes, required continuous monitoring of my 3 babies, stat labs, immediate transport to MFM for a scan, and was also acting as my cheerleader and support person, all at the same time. She completed each task gracefully and when the decision was made to send me back to the peri-op area urgently for a C-section of my 29.5-week multiples, she came to our aid and continued to be a resource, advocate, and compassionate caregiver for both myself and my nervous husband - remembering even the smallest details and things that I mentioned to her during the course of my stay that may help calm my nerves and ease the tension of this incredibly life-changing experience.
Kristen, again, remained my cheerleader; she helped capture memories in the operating room and shared in the controlled chaos and the beautiful delivery of my identical triplet boys. She remained my caregiver on the day shift and was ultimately the RN to discharge me the day I got to go home; she still checks in on me and how the boys are doing in the NICU and will always hold a very special place in my heart. My family and I are forever grateful. As a ChristianaCare caregiver myself, it is moments like these and exceptional individuals like Kristen who make me proud to call myself a ChristianaCare Nurse. Thank you to Kristen and the entire L&D and now, the NICU teams, for serving together and keep me and my family safe.
