Two nominations:
On Thursday 3/31/11, Kristi responded to a Code Blue on one of the floors. ICU had no beds so she stayed with the patient while dealing with doctors, nurses and shift admin to make room for the patient in ICU. Kristi always puts the patients first. She's a great resource nurse and a calm and caring lead nurse, always a pleasure to work with.
Kristi is an excellent nurse and a fantastic lead nurse. On March 31 Kristi was lead, our unit was full, we had three patients waiting for beds and she responded to a Code Blue on the floor. The patient survived the code and needed to be admitted to ICU. Kristi advocated for this patient and got the proper people involved to move a patient to the PACU and bring the patient who coded to ICU. She stayed with this patient on the floor as well as organized (with help of the supervisor) the transport of the patient to a higher level of care. She stepped up to get this patient’s needs met in the ICU.
