Kristie distinguished herself in her duties and responsibilities in a superior manner. She was both professional and personal during my visit that can't be matched by any other RNs that I have witnessed and observed during my time under care.
Professional
• Greeting me by name.
• Obtain my weight, blood pressure, and temperature.
• Gave me a step-by-step approach to IV insertion to ensure safety and accuracy.
• Pharmacy will review vital signs, lab work, and can then begin to safely prepare and process
To know that support is very important for your patients.
Performing injections with the utmost care, while establishing comfort and safeguards of the infusion.
She continually recorded my medication, as well as the psychological needs continually through the process.
I could see Ms. Brown also working with hospice, long-term care, private homes, ambulance, clinics, and other health centers.
Personal
I did not know what to expect when I came for my infusion, but Ms. Brown continually called me by name throughout the time I was there and ensured that I was comfortable and sensitive to my needs with the entire process.
She asked if there were any questions pertaining to any and all the expectations while I was there. She provided oxygen if needed and not have to use the concentrator that I brought. We discussed everything from family, joked about life's issues and she has a warm smile and comfort that brought such a relaxed and peaceable surrounding ensuring each time she checked on me before, during, and after my treatment.
Ms. Brown does more than provide care and treatments, she adopts a superior holistic principle of the core of nursing and medicine. Understanding the overall management of improving the patient's care plan is essential to a nurse's role.
I could write many pages of what she did for me, but she performed these 2 areas with such a passion that I have never seen before in all my times during all my hospital visits around the world. Most people do not have the compassion, integrity, love, and concern that Ms. Brown has. She brought great credit to herself and to Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.
