I was admitted into the hospital through the ER, having a diverticulitis attack and in lots of pain. I am writing this note to thank the nursing staff on the second floor for taking good care of me. I found the staff to be caring on both shifts even though they were busy. I have a new appreciation for nurses and all they go through because after being in the hospital for 4 days I realized that being a nurse is way more than just taking care of a patient medically.
I especially want to thank a "special" nurse who helped me so much. Her name is Kristin Greco. Kristin went out of her way at 20 minutes before her shift ended on a late Saturday afternoon because she knew I had been waiting all day for the results of a comparison CAT Scan to see if I could go home or not. Kristin took the time to contact two doctors, reading them the results of my second CAT Scan, and then finding out if I could go home because the antibiotics had helped and my abscess was gone. Kristin went above and beyond what she is called to do. I really appreciated her "extra" help that Saturday afternoon. All day Sunday as I was sitting outside for the first time all week after being in a hospital bed for the four days, I was thanking her for the time she took to see my dilemma and got me out of the hospital way faster than I had expected. I have been a cancer patient at your hospital since 2013 and it was so nice to get home Saturday night instead of Monday morning. Thanks again for all the nursing staff who helped me and especially Kristin.
