Kristina, after working a long twelve hour night shift and needing to go home to her two very small children, took the time to drive a patient to Wolfson's to be with her dying newborn. This mother delivered via cesarean section and the baby developed respiratory distress and was transferred to Wolfson's due to what they thought was a pneumothorax. After the baby arrived at Wolfson's it was determined that the baby had pulmonary hypoplasia. That morning the mother was informed that they were doing resuscitative measures on the baby and a discontinue order from the mom was obtained and a cab called so the mother could go be with her baby as it passed. The cab was taking a long time and other family members were and had been at Wolfson's already so the mother was without transportation. This nurse offered and drove the mother so she could finally hold and comfort her baby during the last few hours of his short life. She is a selfless member of our team and this is just one example of her true love, passion, and caring for others.
