Kristy and her team went above and beyond their duties to help us determine if it was safe to breast feed with my extremely complex primary immunodeficiency health issues and medications. Kristy caught a potentially very harmful medication that was in my medication list (long list). What was exceptional on her part was that this medication (hydrocortisone) in its normal formulation and at current dose would have been alright to breast feed our identical twin boys, but Kristy noticed that because it was a compounded hydrocortisone capsule, the active ingredient was a long acting steroid. IF the babies ingested this long acting medication via breast milk, it could have created significant issues for already premature babies. Despite the bad news and not being able to breastfeed, Kristy provided extremely thorough explanations, took extra time to research our specific situation and was tremendously resourceful, using an array of literature and specialty providers. Her team saved our babies from serious medication complications.
