Kyle met us at Dad's home promptly and it was a very smooth transition.
Kyle was the night shift nurse assigned to care for my Dad one weekend while my father was on the PCU unit at Carle BroMenn. Due to COVID precautions, we were not able to stay with Dad at the hospital, and Kyle was wonderful to talk to any time of the evening or night. He explained things well and it seemed as if he had all the time in the world to talk with us when we called for a report on Dad's condition. A phone call with questions didn't seem to bother him at all. We could sense that he took the time to get to know his patients and their families. It gave us such peace of mind to know that Dad was in good hands.
Our family had to make the difficult decision to bring Dad home on comfort care with Hospice services. I cannot put into words the level of comfort and peace my Mom and I felt when we heard that Kyle would also be the admission nurse for Dad to receive Hospice services. Kyle met us at Dad's home promptly and it was a very smooth transition. Dad was able to be at home for about 12 hours before he peacefully passed away. My family and I will be forever grateful for Kyle's assistance during the hospital stay and the transition to home. We appreciate all the efforts put forth to fulfill my Dad's final wish to be at home with his children and grandchildren.
