My c-section was scheduled 7 weeks before my due date in part due to a high-risk pregnancy. I was already so nervous to deliver my sons soon but then the added fear of having a cesarian set in as well. However, the wonderful nurses I interacted with made an enormous difference in my delivery and recovery. There were many people I met in those few days recovering, and honestly, it was difficult to not name most of them for this award. These nurses below went above and beyond, and I am proud to be able to share how grateful I am to have met them.
Maria: From the start of my surgery prep, Maria was so bubbly, charismatic, lively and so kind. She made the process so natural and took away my fears of the surgery. She was meant to be a nurse!
Sara: (travel nurse from Redding) was so cool, calm and collected. She gave me so much comfort during prep and made me feel safe and comfortable post-surgery. I was vocal about my fears, and she listened and reassured me that I was okay and making positive progress during post op. She is kind, funny and I am so fortunate I had her as a nurse.
Kaitlyn: Anesthesiologist. Kaitlyn was amazing at walking me through the surgery and keeping me updated and safe. I was very anxious deep down and she made me comfortable, safe and reassured me all was well. She checked in on my pain to make sure I was okay and was sweet and calm.
Marlo: Marlo was so gentle and sweet. I looked forward to our middle of the night conversations during my recovery and she was so motherly. She made me feel safe, cared for and was a real joy.
Velvet: Velvet has an amazing energetic and positive spirit. Every time she came into the room, she made me and my husband smile. One of the most loving and caring nurses but also fun!
Jennie: So calm and gentle. Her calm energy always was so nice, and she was so sweet, patient and thoughtful.
Jillian: Jillian was, hands down, one of the most special nurses I have ever encountered. She was thoughtful, patient, and an awesome communicator. She took the time to listen to my concerns and made me feel validated. I will never forget how she aided me during one of my toughest recoveries. She is a wonderful nurse but an even more amazing human, mom, and wife. She is truly meant to be a nurse and inspires me to return to nursing school.
