Lana and Denise helped facilitate a patient going back to family in North Carolina. This is a huge victory as this patient is disabled, wheelchair bound and homeless, after a domestic violence incident. The patient would have been homeless in the woods if not for these incredible RN's efforts. I am proud to work with them and I'm in awe of their commitment to our patients and this facility.
Lana and Denise worked diligently to assist this patient home. They made numerous phone calls and went out of their way to make sure she had clothes, food and necessary supplies to get to North Carolina. Lana contacted her husband, whose company has a domestic violence shelter in North Carolina. They worked together to get her accepted and assured a safe place to go when she arrived. Denise then worked to get this patient a bus ticket. After several hours of phone calls and arrangements, the patient was prepared for her departure the next day. Lana, who works nights, took on this patient as an additional patient all night long and tended to her requests while caring for her additional patients in her assignment. These two worked diligently and went above and beyond to care for this grateful and now safe patient.
