Lana has proved her loyalty in the system. She performs a vital role in educating nurses, RTs, and physicians for PALS. All staff who provide direct care to our pediatric population are required to be PALS certified. This is made possible due to Lana's undying commitment to the program. Not only does Lana serve as a faculty for PALS program, but she also helped train other competent staff to be PALS provider. Due to her hard work as a mentor, our group of PALS providers grew. Lana is also a valuable part of our PICU team. She is one of the designated charge nurses for night shift. The staff look at her as a leader and a strong resource. She excels in training, leading, and motivating people. She continuously mentors newly graduated nurses in PICU where she shares a vast knowledge and skills appropriate for our PICU setting. She is an active member of the Product Evaluation committee and Pediatric Code committee. She always contributes innovative ideas to improve our work environmentat the unit's Shared Governance's meetings. On a personal note, she always responds to the call of duty. I asked her if she could work as charge nurse one night because there was no one available. She immediately accepted the request because she saw the need.
