We recently had an incident in our behavioral health unit that required additional resources to assist in the de-escalation of one of our patients and we are so proud of the response from Mr. Lance Brown.
Lance responded to our behavioral health incident, like every time before, with a calm demeanor and determination to soothe the situation. Upon arrival, Lance realized this situation was a bit more than situations in the past but that did not deter him from stepping right in and doing whatever needed. Throughout the entire incident, Lance remained a nurse to his core. Never left this patient, got down on his knees when this patient was on the floor, gently touched and spoke to the patient, and let the patient know someone was still there with him and things would be ok. When this patient was leaving the unit for transportation out, Lance walked out with him, side by side with the stretcher to make sure the patient did not feel alone. Amazing! Thank you Lance for your dedication to our patients, we are beyond lucky to have you at west.
