The patient was discharging home and had a flight to catch. The family went over to Walmart pharmacy to pick up medication and was told that the medication would not be ready for two hours. If they waited that long, they would miss the flight. The family was in a panic. Larissa was not going to let her patient miss the flight. She called the doctor and suggested that he order medication from our inpatient pharmacy, just enough to get them through a few days, and other scripts were sent to the patient's home pharmacy in Arizona. The patient was able to get her medication in time and was able to catch a flight out of Twin. Great job to the IP Surgical team, Hospitalist team, and Larissa.
