I don't know if I can put into words how amazing it was to have Laura Bradstreet as my nurse. I had been in and out of the hospital for 7 weeks. During these 7 weeks, I had the privilege of having Laura as my nurse. She is beyond intelligent. She always took the time to explain aspects of my care that I had difficulty understanding. She provided the most compassionate care I have ever experienced. I could tell she truly loves her job and is excellent at helping others. One thing that makes Laura stand out from others is her ability to advocate for her patient. When I was in need, she stepped up. When I had trouble advocating for myself, she advocated for me. Laura became my voice when I was too sick or too hesitant to use my own. Laura interacted with my family and always made them feel welcome. She provided so much more than healthcare. Laura is the definition of a wonderful nurse. She acts with compassion and empathy. She speaks to patients gently and with kindness. She has her patients’ best interests in all actions that she completes. Laura had the ability to make me feel that I was the only patient she was taking care of when, in reality, she had many other patients. She made me feel like my health and well-being were her only priorities. Laura made me feel listened to; I felt seen, and I felt understood by Laura. She gives me hope for the future of healthcare.
